First Meeting!

TVP held its first meeting after the First Look Fair this past Monday at the Art-Sociology Building, Room 2309 at 5pm.

Collin showed the attendees a video project he recently finished as an example of the kind of work we do. A number of students were interested in short film production; additionally, there was a broad spectrum of interest by the roughly two dozen attendees, ranging from directing to acting, screenwriting and editing.

We presented our new logo as well, which is at the top of this post, and are hoping that next week the majority of last night's attendees will return so that we may commence breaking into production teams and start video training. We already have some video projects lined up for other student groups and graduate students.

Our next meeting is Monday, September 27th at 5pm, Art-Soc building Room 2309. Come join us!

New Semester, New TVP

Welcome to the new UMD TVP blog. In lieu of a fancy website with more advanced and thorough features, this blog will be a news update for members and people interested in what we're up to.
The current line-up is:
  • Collin Baker: President
  • Josh Chik: Vice President
  • Calvin Nwachuku: Treasurer
  • Deanna Wright: Public Relations
  • Leah Villaneuva: Secretary
Some important things the club will be working on especially in the first month back in Fall is prep for the First Look Fair; writing, casting, filming, editing, and posting member video projects; keeping to a time schedule so that things can be done each semester; reaching out to the student body. Additional or modified group goals will be evaluated at the first meeting in Fall.
We are also on the hunt for a logo designer - I personally have some ideas but my rough sketches are not good enough to be put anywhere public, I'm an awful artist and would like a design that we can use as the official group logo to put on a banner, group publications, and some sweet t-shirts for members. So any interested parties should e-mail or contact me somehow.
That's all I can think of right now for the first post, but remember to look here for updates, and with some organization and enthusiasm we will have a very productive semester!
